Scott and Robin Linscott
Scott showed up one Sunday in July of 2013 as a guest speaker filling in for another guest speaker. Not having a pastor, we asked him to return a few weeks later. The rest is, as they say, history.
Scott is an approachable, down-to-earth, narrative style teacher known for his sense of humor and ability to present biblical truth in memorable ways. He strives to present the Jesus of scripture even when that Jesus confronts modern church practices, the American comfort and convenience gospel or prevelant Christian political movements.
Scott and his wife, Robin, live every day as if it is a bonus day since Scott nearly died of End Stage Liver Disease in 2012. His oldest son, Josh, gave him nearly 60% of his liver in a lifesaving living donor transplant. Scott blogged his transplant journey at ScottLinscott.com.
Scott believes Jesus commissioned his church to be salt and light in the community, not to exist hidden in protected bubbles behind church walls. He models this in his own life by serving with the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary, being a BOD member of Westbrook Families Feeding Families, serving on the Westbrook Community Housing Coalition and assisting Westbrook Partners for Prevention. He is also a volunteer with New England Donor Services promoting organ donation. He is a literacy volunteer in the Westbrook School system and has authored several children's books for his first graders and his grandchildren. He is well-known in our community for showing up to photograph community events, veterans events, school events and civic programs and then sharing his work freely.
