We provide a food pantry that is open weekly, sponsor community cookouts and activities, and provide a free community dinner once or twice a month. None of our programs require any paperwork or means testing and all are open to anyone who has need.
Our Open Door Kitchen (MENU) has provided hot,
delicious, homestyle meals to thousands of people since its beginning at FBC in 2009. Volunteers from
FBC, other churches and even community groups come together to do all the cooking, serving and cleanup
each on the third Saturday of each month from 4:30-6 PM. Meals are provided thanks to a generous grant
from the Narragansett Number One Foundation, donations from individuals and FBC support.

We are glad to host a ministry to help our newest Westbrook neighbors get settled in their new apartments by supplying furniture and kitchen supplies. We take in donations of used furniture, pots, pans and working small kitchen appliances to then pass on to immigrants, asylum seekers, people rebuilding their lives after opioid addiction and whoever we can. Everything we have is free to those who have need. There's no paperwork to fill out or any qualifications to meet. Call our Furniture Ministry coordinator Dana Kelly at 207-838-0791 to donate furniture or see if we have anything that can help you get established. Welcome to Westbrook.
FBC is heavily involved in welcoming immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers and helping them get settled and acclimated to Maine. In 2017 we were involved in our first church plant, focusing on immigrants from Angola and the DRC. Today that congregation is 150+ strong and is part of our FBC family offering worship services in French, Portuguese and Lingala. Our vision is big in that we hope to see our facilities used to teach English language classes, offer job training and help new Mainers learn to navigate our systems from school, to healthcare to grocery stores.
FBC has made its building and resources available to efforts helping individuals battling addiction. We host a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting Tuesdays at noon and a Monday evening, Christian faith-based group exploring issues of mental health, recovery dynamics using biblical and scientific tools for health.
Since 2016, we have partnered with AMG International to support the Noah's Ark School and Childcare Center in Oratorio, Guatemala providing children and families trapped in third-world poverty with education, nutrition, healthcare and the hope of the gospel. Church families support more than 30 children through monthly sponsorship. Our goal has been to return at least every two years and build an ongoing, long-term ministry partnership.
